Summary
Established mice strains, SHR and SHR-SP, by a Japanese pathologist Dr. Y. Yamori at Kyoto University, have been worldwide used for the studies of hypertension and stroke.
This film introduces these very useful mice models visually and spotlights the enthusiasm of the researchers to investigate pathogenesis of stroke. We can see the detailed pathogenic changes of blood stream and blood vessel in mice's venules and arteriola caused by hypertension.
At present, various animal models of diseases have been developed. SHR and SHR-SP were first one. The title of this film come the researchers' saying to themselves: Is stroke preventable ?
